Zaii

Zaii, born Gabriel Ange Mbaya on July 28, 2009, is an independent underground artist on the Ukiwame Productions roster. Like labelmate Aelumed, he attends Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland, in the DMV.

Zaii brings an energetic, upbeat bounce to the Ukiwame roster — alternative hip-hop built on vibrant production and a flow that stays lighter on its feet. Where Aelumed leans lyrical and prolific, Zaii leans into rhythm and feel, favoring hooks and momentum as much as verse. "Tout en noir" — all in black — is more of a look than a mood; the music itself rarely sits still.

The catalog so far is short and deliberate: singles like "Glow" and "Pop" establish the tone, while collaborative work with labelmate Aelumed on "join my set" and "#B4PS" points to where the sound is headed next.
